Pictures: LA SALLE Archant A Catholic activist found dead in Peru was a former teacher at a top Ipswich school. Paul McAuley, taught at St Joseph’s College, an independent day and boarding school in Belstead Road.Mr McAuley, aged 71, known as Brother Paul to colleagues and friends, moved to Peru in 1995 and worked with indigenous people, campaigning for their human and environmental rights.Before moving to South America Mr McAuley, originally from Portsmouth, taught at St Joseph’s College during the late 1970s.His reportedly burned body was discovered by students at the youth hostel he ran in Iquitos, a large city in the Peruvian Amazon.St Joseph's College in Belstead Road, Ipswich where Brother Paul McAuley was a teacher during the 1970s. Then Brother David Hennessy, of the De La Salle order, he became head of the independent day and boarding school in the autumn of 1987. He said, before he started, that: “We have got to move with the times, but that is not to say I will follow any educational fashion.” He added that “huge value” would be put on links with the community.Brother David later trained for the Roman Catholic priesthood, being ordained in the college chapel three weeks before Christmas 1998. Dive Brief: Providence St. Joseph Health has acquired Lumedic, a blockchain-enabled revenue cycle management platform based in Seattle, for an undisclosed sum. Lumedic's next-generation platform uses distributed ledger technology, smart contracts and machine learning with the aim of selling to providers and payers looking to increase efficiencies and reduce costs. The deal makes Providence St. Joseph the first integrated provider-payer system with a scalable blockchain tool for RCM, the nonprofit system said Monday at HIMSS 2019 in Orlando, Florida. Dive Brief: Providence St. Joseph Health on Monday announced a new for-profit population health management company called Ayin Health Solutions. The health system is the third largest non-profit system in the country, including 51 hospitals across seven states. Providence St. Joseph said Ayin will provide expertise and tools for payers, providers, employers and government departments looking to cut costs, improve care and transition into population health. Ayin will provide capabilities like a pharmacy benefits management program that partners pharmacists and physicians in a coordinated care model and a risk evaluation tool.
