(Article by Joseph Curl republished from TheGatewayPundit.com) The Gray Lady each day gathered up “All the News That’s Fit to Print” as it ruled over the journalistic world, becoming the “newspaper of record” in America. If it wasn’t in The Times, it wasn’t all that important. For a century and a half, the paper — which has won 127 Pulitzer Prizes, far more than any other — adhered to the highest of standards. But not anymore. Not even close. For more than two years, the editors at The Times produced hundreds of weak articles pushing a story they claimed was solid as a rock: President Trump and his campaign coterie colluded with Russia … [Read more...] about The New York Times officially becomes a joke newspaper

They are a true ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!”Trump does not cite a specific article, but his blunt declaration comes a day after The Times published a report describing how he has tried to influence and undermine investigations surrounding him, his presidential campaign and his administration. Visit The Boston Globe Share on Twitter Share on Facebook Comment on this Scroll to top of page By Linda Qiu New York Times February 01, 2019 In a wide-ranging interview Thursday, President Donald Trump made numerous inaccurate or misleading statements about trade, the military and border security, among other topics. What Trump Said: “We have 25 percent now on $50 billion. And by the way, Peter, that’s a lot of money pouring into our Treasury, you know. We never made 5 cents with China. We’re getting right now 25 percent on $50 billion.” False. Tariffs imposed on imports of foreign goods do not mean another country is paying the bill. The costs are largely passed onto U.S. companies and consumers. Advertisement It is also not true that the Treasury Department never collected any revenue from tariffs on Chinese products before Trump. President George Washington signed the Tariff Act of 1789, when trade between China and the United … [Read more...] about Fact-checking what President Trump said in his interview with the New York Times

“Simply assuming that this is an interesting controversy that we should check in on occasionally is not correct. The survival of human civilization is at risk. The news media should be making this existential crisis the No. 1 topic they cover.” That was Vice President Al Gore being quoted in a New York Times piece by the newspaper's public editor, Margaret Sullivan. Sullivan's article, "After Changes, How Green Is The Times?" examines environmental reporting since the Times dismantled its environmental reporting facility last January. Sullivan's analysis, which seems fair, actually shows the Times as not having entirely dropped the ball, but it is clear that coverage of environmental issues since the Time scrapped its special team (called, ironically, a "pod") to have diminished in both quantity and depth. Environmental issues have become more numerous and more important nearly every month over the last few years, and as Vice President Gore notes, there is no longer any … [Read more...] about Has The New York Times Dropped The Ball On The Most Important Story Ever?
