BRITS are set for MORE scorching sun as the UK battles wildfires, train failures and 30C temperatures. Dozens of families were forced to flee their homes after the blazing heat caused a massive fire to break out on Saddleworth Moor. The blaze started on Monday and by last night nearby properties were being evacuated as strong winds drove the flames towards residential areas. Emergency services are advising locals to keep their doors and windows closed, with temperatures set to reach 31C later today. Public Health England (PHE) has issued a warning saying the extreme heat may pose a risk to the most vulnerable. On Tuesday the mercury soared to 30.6C in Wales, beating Monday's high of 30.1C in London, the Met Office said. AT least 34 homes have been evacuated in Greater Manchester as firefighters battle an out-of-control blaze in Saddleworth Moor tonight. Terrifying footage and images showed the wildfire, branded the worst in living memory, inching ever closer to people's homes in the quaint town of Carrbrook. The blaze started on Sunday and reignited the next day as Britain was hit with a sweltering heatwave which has seen temperatures top 30C. There have so far been no reports of injuries but Greater Manchester Police urged locals - especially those with asthma - to stay indoors and shut all doors and windows. The moon glowed an eerie red over the moors as flames spanned the entire lengths of some hills in the area.
