Picture: DENISE BRADLEY Archant Having led twice last weekend against Sheffield Utd, but twice letting the Blades back into the game I think there would have been a few disappointed Norwich fans leaving Carrow Road. However, in the cold light of day I thought it was a good point against a very organised, hard working Chris Wilder team that won’t be too far away from automatic promotion come the beginning of May.That draw against Sheffield Utd keeps them at arm’s length in third position in the Championship, three points behind the Canaries. It was such a shame Norwich conceded the penalty so late into first half injury time, with Billy Sharp scoring from the spot. The away dressing room would have been a much happier place at half-time.Billy’s goals last weekend were his 17th and 18th of an … [Read more...] about Iwan Roberts: It was a joy to be welcomed back by City’s head honcho
City head coach Daniel Farke and West Brom boss Darren Moore met at Carrow Road back in August Picture: Paul Chesterton/Focus Images Paul Chesterton Ahead of a testing run of fixtures against promotion rivals, David Freezer takes a closer look at the games which could well shape the rest of the Championship campaign for Norwich City. While defeat in the FA Cup may have been a disappointment for Norwich City, it did at least allow some of Daniel Farke’s key players a rest at a vital time. With the halfway point of the season passed just before Christmas, an intense period of four games in 11 days pushed the Canaries squad to its limits, as injury issues mounted. With no midweek game this week either it has allowed Farke’s team to focus fully on a run of fixtures which could well prove decisive to hopes of staying in the hunt for automatic promotion.First up is fourth-placed West Brom, who sit just three points further back, followed by home games against fellow promotion … [Read more...] about Five games which will test City’s promotion credentials to the limit
PUBLISHED: 06:00 01 November 2018 Stuart Watson There are remarkable similarities between the start of Mick McCarthy and Paul Lambert's Ipswich Town careers. Picture: STEVE WALLER WWW.STEPHENWALLER.COM © Copyright Stephen Waller I said after a drab East Anglian derby back on September 2 that both Norwich and Ipswich were two very average teams that would probably finish mid table or worse. Well it looks that I was very right with one of those predictions, but very wrong with the other one! What on earth is happening down at Portman Road? New manager Paul Hurst is still looking for his first win as Ipswich manager and after Tuesday night’s defeat to Middlesbrough they are second from bottom by goal difference only. They are in real danger of ending their 17-year stay in The Championship.
