The war went on for 13 days in which 1500 Indian soldiers led their life to safeguard the people of East Pakistan. It was on 16 December 1971, when the Indian armed forces with their superb and unique warfare skills, compelled the 93,000 Pakistani armed forces to kneel down and surrender. This resulted in the formation of Bangladesh. She was 67. She suffered from a massive cardiac arrest in the evening and was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, where she breathed her last. Swaraj had undergone a kidney transplant in 2016. This morning, 7th August, PM Modi became emotional while paying his tribute to Sushma Swaraj. Her body is kept at the BJP headquarters from 12pm-3pm so that leaders and party workers can pay last respects. After that, she will be cremated with state honors. As a mark of respect, the Delhi and Haryana governments have declared a two-day state mourning.
