A COMPANY that has been fundraising for a support centre over the past five years has given them another £2,226. L&S Waste Management presented their latest cheque to The Rainbow Centre, in Fareham.The donation is from a percentage of its online skip sales as well as other fundraising events and means since 2013, the firm has raised around £27,000.Mick Balch, managing director, said: ‘It’s a pleasure for us to be working closely with a wonderful charity. The youngsters were joined by their parents in completing the Rainbow Centre’s Rainbow Rush.Starting the course with white T-shirts, the kids were soon covered in paint and water and finished the event with colourful clothes.This is the second year the Fareham centre has organised the Rainbow Rush which was supported by physical training instructors at HMS Collingwood.Siblings Harry and Mollie Sanders, from Gosport, took part in the event held yesterday at Cams Alders Recreation Ground.They had to climb over an inflatable, run through tyres, jump over a pommel horse, crawl under a cargo net, slide on tarpaulin and climb blue crash mats all while being covered in paint.Harry, six, said: ‘It was really good. IN PICTURES: Rainbow Centre family fun day 0 Have your say Vintage cars, bungee-runs and penalty shoot-outs made for a cracking fundraising day for a vital charity. The community turned out in force for the Rainbow Centre’s fifth annual Family Fun Day and Dog Show on Saturday at Cams Alders Recreation Ground. Four-legged friends went into battle in the dog show, supported by Downland Veterinary Group, which included a variety of categories. The charity supports children with cerebral palsy and adults with a stroke, MS and Parkinson’s, head injury and their families through a system of learning called conductive education. Beehives, Brownies and Rainbows sip tea in celebration

Beehives pre-schoolers and the Rainbows and Brownies of Salcombe came together not only to celebrate Meghan and Harry tying the knot, but to raise money for the Kingsbridge Triangle Centre as well as present girl guiding leader Hazel Burkitt with a service award. The afternoon was held at the Cliff House, and everyone showed their national pride by dressing in red, white and blue. After tea, the children were treated to a performance by Billy Wiz the Magician. Girlguiding commissioner Sarah Stephens also presented Hazel for her 20 years service as a guiding leader, or ‘Brown Owl’. Hazel also did stints as the Kingsbridge district commissioner and secretary.
