THOMAS Markle is now well and truly out of the running for Harry and Meghan's big day, after an excruciating week of will-he-won't-he drama. Meghan's interesting family has been busy making headlines in the run up to the wedding, and the whole Markle debacle has threatened to tarnish the mood ahead of the big day. Very public family feuding and an absent dad are hiccups the happy couple could do without with two days to go. But, famously, history repeats itself and, as we show here, they're hardly the first royal nuptials to reach a bump in the road. 1. The one with the banned gay best men The Queen's wayward younger sister Princess Margaret married Anthony Armstrong-Jones in May, 1960, after her much-publicised relationship with Peter Townsend came to a sudden end. Tony, who would later become Lord Snowdon, was all set for the wedding until the Palace demanded he change his choice of best man. Jeremy Fry had been convicted for a minor homosexual offence (being gay was a crime until … [Read more...] about Royal Wedding fails – from aggressive piles to a best man who axed for being gay… the mishaps that make the Markle drama look tame

(April 26) Media: Associated Press SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Investigators hunting for the so-called Golden State Killer turned to searching genetic websites in 2017 but misidentified an Oregon man as a potential suspect. A year later, after using a similar technique, they are confident they've caught the serial rapist and killer who eluded capture for four decades. In March 2017, an Oregon City police officer, working at the request of investigators in California, convinced a judge to order a 73-year-old man in a nursing home to provide a DNA sample. Court documents obtained by The Associated … [Read more...] about DNA search for California serial killer led to wrong man
One day, you’re watching a celebrity on your living-room TV. A week later, he’s watching that same TV with you, as your dog humps his leg.My wife spotted George Maloof, multimillionaire tabloid fixture, at a media party in his Las Vegas casino, the Palms—recognizing him from a commercial in which he co-starred with a pig. She broke away from the chat I was conducting with other journalists and introduced herself to him as my wife.I interviewed him a few times, and he told me he enjoyed a column I wrote in the local Las Vegas newspaper. But I didn’t know George Maloof. I had what I imagined to be the same telephone/email relationship with the man that hundreds of journalists enjoyed. My wife thought that was sufficient to invite him to dinner at our house. She related the story after returning to me and my friends.WTF? Did she ask if Britney Spears could come, too? The fact that Maloof accepted the invite was irrelevant. “Of course he’s going to … [Read more...] about What Happens if You Invite a Rich Celebrity to Dinner and He Says Yes?
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a man in possession of an iPhone must be in want of a dick pic. But once he snaps a photo of his Johnson, how should he negotiate the thorny terrain of prick portraiture? Speaking as a single woman who takes great delight in all the male parts, but especially the dick, I can attest that while every man could send a dick pic, not every man should send a dick pic. We are in the age of the dick pic, so much that it’s hard to remember that it wasn’t always that way. The dick pic has felled politicians, from the unfortunately named Anthony Weiner to former London Deputy Mayor Richard Barnes. It has exposed celebrity members from Diplo to Sisqo, from Kanye West to Michael Stipe, and Brett Favre to Chris Cooley.Whether the penis of the rich and famous or the prick of the great unwashed, the dick pic is a great equalizer, in that any man with a schlong and a smartphone can make one—and probably has.I remember my very first dick … [Read more...] about Is There a Right Way to Sext? Violence in modern societies is increasingly associated with property crimes as individuals are willing to resort to whatever means necessary to secure desired goods. A kid steals a candy bar because he wants to enjoy the taste; a young man breaks into a house to steal a new stereo because he wants to enjoy listening to the latest tunes; a drug addict sticks up a grocery store, shooting the owner, in order to get the money he needs to get “high”; a bank executive embezzles a million dollars so he can run off with his girlfriend to enjoy life in the Bahamas; a woman murders her husband so that she can collect on his insurance policy. So what is the common motive behind these crimes? The answer obviously is the desire for sense gratification. Criminologists and social scientists have almost completely overlooked the fact that materialism is the root cause of crime. False identification of the body as the self leads people to believe that sense enjoyment will make them happy … [Read more...] about Temporary sense gratification leads to crime
