The success speaks for itself. In addition to his undeniable success with Styx, DeYoung has continued to have a successful solo career. DeYoung recently completed his solo album 26 East, Vol. 1 (2020). And depending on the management of the pandemic, DeYoung is hoping to embark on a North American tour this spring celebrating over 40 years since The Grand Illusion was made. And yet, of all the hard-nosed realities he’s faced professionally, one that he perhaps didn’t expect was that achieving success doesn’t extinguish those fears and the need for approval. “The best part about what happened to me in the final analysis is, perhaps, I left some small mark on the world — small. And I was able to provide very nicely for my family, which is never to be discounted. Never. When your dream comes true, then what? ... Influenced by postencephalitic behavior disorder, in the 1940s through the 1960s the cluster of symptoms that we now think of as ADHD came to be referred to as minimal brain damage, a term later softened to minimal brain dysfunction. That beer gut or those extra 3 to 5 pounds you want to lose may go quickly once you cut out the alcohol. You'll save money. The amount people spend during the end-of-year holidays often equals the amount spent during the rest of the year combined! That’s a lot of money that could be put to all sorts of other healthier things. You’ll likely sleep better. Alcohol is known to negatively affect the sleep/wake cycles of the brain. People who drink close to bedtime, and sometimes even several hours beforehand, can disrupt their REM sleep cycles. Why is this important? Because that’s when restorative sleep occurs, which helps with overall health, stress … [Read more...] about Dry January: What Is It, and Why You Should Try It
