Breana Noble The Detroit News Published 10:07 PM EST Jan 1, 2019 Detroit — The criminal homicide tally in Michigan's largest city has dropped for the second consecutive year with 261 deaths in 2018, Detroit Police Chief James Craig confirmed Tuesday. If it holds up under review, the number would be the lowest on record in more than 50 years; in 1966, there were 214 homicides. That, however, was at a time when Detroit had a population of more than 1.5 million people — a rate of about 14 homicides per 100,000 residents. The 261 homicides in 2018, compared to Detroit's most recent estimated population of about 673,000 as of July, is a rate of about 39 per 100,000 residents. "I wish they were going down more," Craig said. "I'm not flying the flag of success yet." Craig, in an interview with The Detroit News on Tuesday, said he's happy that homicides have "continually trended down." "We still per capita have more incidents, but we're moving … [Read more...] about Detroit homicides fall for second consecutive year in 2018

Her gruesome murder and her ex-husband's controversial trial shocked the United States - here's what you need to know. When was Nicole Brown Simpson murdered? Nicole Brown was born in Frankfurt, Germany to a German mother and American father, and would later attend high school in California. Hill, law and order, marital law, martial law, media coverage, military, no gun zone, Posse Comitatus, President Trump, violence, war zone (Natural News) One thing you’ll never hear Black Lives Matter talk about is the number of black lives that are ended by other black lives. It doesn’t fit the narrative, but it’s rampant in places like Chicago, resulting in far more black deaths than police shootings, and yet almost nobody on the left is willing to talk about it. But Jason D. Hill, a black professor at DePaul University in Chicago, is willing to talk about it. He recently wrote a letter to the president, in fact, asking that federal troops be brought into the windy city to deal with the “festering” problem of “feral thugs and gang-bangers,” as Hill puts it. Referring … [Read more...] about Black college professor warns about black-on-black “genocide” and mass murder in Chicago, but the entire left-wing media ignores the reality
OXFORD University has apologised to Labour MP David Lammy after retweeting a post branding him “bitter” in a spiralling row over poor diversity figures. The prestigious uni was slammed for sharing the post criticising the Tottenham MP after he publicised admissions statistics obtained from Freedom of Information requests. The university had come under fresh attack for failing to open up places to students from disadvantaged and ethnic minority backgrounds. Ceri Thomas, Oxford’s director of public affairs, said Mr Lammy’s comments showed “no sign of bitterness” and admitted there was “work to do” to improve diversity among students. The latest annual admissions statistics report by the university showed only 11 per cent of UK undergraduates came from disadvantaged areas, up from 7 per cent in 2013. The proportion of students identifying as black and minority ethnic was 18% last year, up from 14% in 2013. There was a slight increase in the … [Read more...] about Oxford University ‘sorry’ for branding MP David Lammy ‘bitter’ in row over diversity
