WASHINGTON — After a fire ripped through a senior housing complex in Centreville, Virginia, Wednesday and displaced approximately 125 residents, a Fairfax County nonprofit is accepting donations of gift cards to help those who lost everything. Volunteer Center of Fairfax is accepting gift cards at their office located at 10530 Page Ave. Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donors can also drop off gift cards next week Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the office or mail them to 10530 Page Ave., Fairfax, Virginia, 22030. The gift cards will help the displaced senior citizens buy food, clothing, household items and other necessities. A Red Cross spokesman said the displaced residents of Forest Glen Senior Apartments will not be returning to their homes anytime soon. Lettuce entertain you gift card balance
If you have a Toys R Us gift card burning a hole in your pocket, now is the time to use it. The toy retailer will no longer accept gift cards after Saturday, April 21. E-gift cards and Endless Earnings will also stop being accepted after Saturday. Toys R Us, which announced in March that it would be shutting down operations in the United States and Puerto Rico, also says on its website that gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash. Loyalty rewards and coupons stopped being accepted in March. Toys R Us credit cards, however, are being accepted through the end of the company's liquidation sale. Shoppers who choose to use a Toys R Us gift card should keep in mind that all sales are final, and that orders are not being accepted online.
