The word 'troll' is slang for a person who deliberately starts arguments on the internet with the aim of provoking an individual or group into a reaction. It can be done because they genuinely want a healthy debate, or because the troll simply enjoys winding people up. The term has nothing to do with the ugly green character from children's literature, it's actually a fishing term. AMERICAN internet trolls have blasted the Royal Family as "arrogant" and "stupid" after they threatened to report abusive online comments to cops. In one vile post believed to be referring to Meghan Markle, one user wrote: "How dare the arrogant BRF [British Royal Family] threaten me, a US citizen, with possible police if I express disgust for that narcissistic skank?" Writing on the JerseyDeanne.com website, the New York user added: "Will they deny me a visitor’s visa next!
