Prosecutors will not retry a Florida man who served 30 years for a racially charged murder after a judge tossed his conviction and life sentence because of new evidence. The Tampa Bay Times reports 47-year-old Dean McKee wept Wednesday when prosecutors announced in court they dropped the charges and he was allowed to walk free. McKee was 16 in 1987 when he and his 18-year-old brother Scott were charged with killing 41-year-old Isaiah Walker, a homeless black man. The brothers were professed neo-Nazis. Scott McKee got a one-year sentence for testifying it was his brother who stabbed Walker. Dean McKee was convicted of murder and got life. A COP has been caught on camera punching an unarmed black man to the floor after a row in a restaurant. In the footage, Miami officer Adriel Dominguez is seen arguing with Lowell Poitier Jr, 35. After appearing to grab something off the top of the stand, he then makes a gesture towards the officer. In the video, a voice can be heard saying: “Watch yourself bud” a couple of times before Poitier responds: “What? what?”. Dominguez then squares up to Poitier and slams his right fist into the left side of his face, knocking him to the floor. The 62-second footage was obtained by another police officer, Frederick Dominguez, who has no relation to the officer in the footage, and then passed on to the Miami Herald. The Miami Beach Police Department says it is investigating footage released by one of its own officers showing a fellow officer sucker-punching an unarmed black man at a restaurant Dec. 3. Attorney Michael Pizzi emailed the video obtained by his client, Miami Beach Police Officer Frederick Dominguez, to police and city leaders Wednesday. Pizzi says Dominguez wasn't on the scene at the Pelican restaurant in Miami Beach when the incident occurred, but was able to obtain the video, which is a cellphone recording of a body cam video that is apparently playing on another screen. The video shows a man sitting a table at a restaurant before getting up and walking around a menu stand near where some officers are gathered, gesturing with his hand. Someone can be heard saying, "Watch yourself, dog." The man approaches one of the officers and says, "What, what?" The officer is then seen grabbing him with his left hand and violently punching him with his right fist and the man falls to the … [Read more...] about Whistleblower cop releases video showing another officer sucker punching unarmed black man
Tim Elfrink, The Washington Post Published 4:59 am PST, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 The DJ had spent Saturday night spinning Phil Collins records and R&B inside the Rec Room Bar and Grill, a low-key tavern with two pool tables and a wall full of dartboards in a strip mall about 20 miles north of Seattle. Then a new group sauntered in after midnight and demanded that he play the "hard stuff," the Seattle Times reported. The DJ queued up some Black Sabbath. But when the song didn't immediately play, the group of white men surrounded the booth. The DJ, a 37-year-old black man, suddenly noticed their tattoos: "Devil" was stenciled across one man's shaved head, and swastikas were inked on other men's arms. When they attacked, the DJ told the Times, they called him the "n-word" and promised, "We will find you, and we will kill you." Police now say the men were sworn members of a neo-Nazi group that had traveled to Washington to celebrate an infamous white supremacist … [Read more...] about Neo-Nazis gathered to mourn a dead leader.
