British counter-terrorism police were investigating a multiple stabbing in which the suspect reportedly shouted "Allah" at a Manchester railway station on New Year's Eve, officials said Tuesday. A man and a woman, both in their 50s, and a police officer were being treated for knife injuries following the stabbings on Monday evening at Manchester Victoria station in the northwest English city. A KNIFEMAN shouted "Allah" after stabbing three commuters at Manchester Victoria Station in a horrifying New Year's Eve attack, a witness has claimed. A British Transport Police officer, a female and a man were stabbed on the train platform just before 9pm. Passenger Sam Clark described how he heard a "blood curdling scream" down the platform before the attacker came towards him with a 12-inch kitchen knife. He said he almost jumped on the tracks to avoid the knifeman who shouted "Allah". He said cops used a Taser and pepper spray before "six or seven" officers jumped on the man. CHRIS Grayling faces a showdown with furious MPs tomorrow over bungled new train timetables. The Transport Secretary will meet the MPs for private talks after thousand of commuters have endured travel chaos in the past fortnight. They will put pressure on MPs to improve services across the Northern network and also the Govia Thameslink lines that run in the south east. Labour are also expected to table an urgent question, which will mean Mr Grayling appearing in the Commons to face further questions. MPs will hold meetings with Mr Grayling and Rail Minister Jo Johnson to vent their anger. On the anniversary of the Manchester Arena Attack, the BBC chose to air a documentary which attempted to describe and depict the events of this terrible evening. Our first priority now and at the time of the attack 12 months ago was to support the families. I am saddened by the impact this documentary has had on families and survivors at such a difficult time. I want to set the record straight about why Greater Manchester Police declined to participate with the production of this documentary and to correct what we consider to be wholly inaccurate reporting. The programme, at least by inference, wrongly suggested that GMP officers and staff were held back on the night of the attack. This is untrue and is an unwarranted attack on GMP police officers who, as the actual footage showed, acted bravely in response to this horrific attack.
