Trump appeared to make a joke about the Trail of Tears — the US government’s forced and deadly relocation of thousands of Cherokee and other native tribes — while mocking Warren’s past claims of being … [Read more...] about In Iowa, Elizabeth Warren says President Trump may be headed for prison
Elizabeth warren for president
By Boston Herald editorial staff | PUBLISHED: December 9, 2018 at 1:41 am | UPDATED: December 9, 2018 at 6:03 am Does a little bit of Elizabeth Warren go a long way? Yes and no. That seems to be the consensus of those who know her best. At least that’s the take from the response to the latest poll of Massachusetts voters on the prospects of our senior senator’s presidential ambitions. In a University of Massachusetts/YouGov survey of probable Democratic presidential candidates, Warren, who’s all but said she’ll mount a presidential run in 2020, was only the third choice at 11 percent, trailing both former Vice President Joe Biden with 19 percent and failed presidential candidate Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders with 14 percent. Even Texas U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke, who recently lost a close U.S. Senate race to conservative Republican firebrand Ted Cruz, drew 10 percent. Another Bay State presidential wannabe, former Gov. Deval Patrick, registered a paltry 6 … [Read more...] about Elizabeth Warren for president? Not so much, say Massachusetts voters
Sen. Elizabeth Warren suggested President Donald Trump's comment about him personally administering a DNA test to her to prove her Native American heritage is "creepy." She tweeted that the president makes "creepy physical threats" about women who scare him, including her. "He's trying to do what he always does to women who scare him: call us names, attack us personally, shrink us down to feel better about himself," the Massachusetts Democrat responded on Twitter on Monday after Trump made the comment during an appearance in Georgia. "It may soothe his ego - but it won't work." Warren, who is seen as a potential 2020 challenger to Trump, appears to have taken a page out of his political playbook, striking back almost instantly at the president who continues to ridicule her claim of Native American ancestry. Trump relishes a good fight, those close to him have said, and will hit back twice as hard when he's been attacked. A sharp critic of Trump, Warren wasted little time going after … [Read more...] about Sen. Elizabeth Warren Accuses Trump of ‘Creepy’ Comments About Her DNA Test

She planned an elaborate rollout Monday of the results as she aimed for widespread attention. The analysis of Warren’s DNA was done by Carlos D. Bustamante, a Stanford University professor and expert in the field who won a 2010 MacArthur fellowship, also known as a genius grant, for … [Read more...] about Elizabeth Warren releases results of DNA test on Native American ancesty
Gov. John Hickenlooper is dipping his toe in the presidential waters. That’s how one of his confidantes, and one of mine, put it to me when I was tipped off on a Sunday night that the next morning he would announce a political action committee, presumably with an endgame at the White House.Consistently, Hickenlooper’s told us he would have Colorado on his mind until time runs out on his second and final term as governor in January. But it appears he will have Iowa and New Hampshire in his cranium, as well.Other than its quirky name, the Giddy Up PAC wasn’t a big surprise, and, really, neither was the team behind it. All of them are wished-upon stars in the Hickenlooper galaxy.Brad Komar, leader of the PAC, ran Hickenlooper’s re-election campaign in 2014, then worked for Hillary Clinton and last year orchestrated a tremendous Democratic win in Virginia, when Ralph Northam beat former Republican National Committee chair Ed Gillespie by 9 points in the race for … [Read more...] about John Hickenlooper gets the band back together, but is it for president?
