Tolerating Ambiguity and Isolation Unlike many disasters, which have a predictable course (see Phases of Disaster, below), pandemics don't fit a clear mold, with no clear end date, high levels of uncertainty about whether there will be ongoing waves of reinfection, unclear paths toward normality, limited data on infection and mortality rates, evolving information about infectious consequences, unclear risk of immunity, and a high level of impact on social relations from infection-control measures. The mental health impact of COVID-19 and the direct neuropsychiatric consequences of infection mean that understanding factors contributing to post-traumatic growth and resilience are especially important. Can Vaccine Passports Stop the Pandemic?
In 2021, proof of a negative COVID-19 test is required to enter countries including Australia, Canada, and the UK. If electronic apps are used, then alternatives must be available for people without access to such technology. Passports will not stop the pandemic, but the documents could contribute to curbing it. As COVID-19 and lockdowns take an increasingly devastating toll, vaccine rollouts continue around the world. To stay safe and to avoid a resurgence of the virus, different forms of “vaccine passports” or “vaccine certificates” are being mooted. Stop Granting Free Passes to Difficult People
How many times have you encountered a person who, at first impression , appears to be refreshingly honest, seemingly successful, liked by many, perhaps even charismatic ? The person’s lack of knowledge completely contradicts the resume; the commitments (or promises) fail the test of implementation and now summon you to question yourself or your memory . The job responsibilities someone clamored for or stepped over others to obtain now await another’s attention . And all the while, you become miserable and often wonder why. As Congress decides a second Impeachment, everyone should consider what goes in to granting free passes and risks thereafter.
