Note: There are spoilers for Avengers: Endgame below… if you still haven't seen it!Avengers: Endgame infamously had one major character lose his head, but originally there were plans for a second gruesome beheading in the movie.Prior to the main time-travel plot of the film, the Avengers initially try to reverse the Snap (or Blip, if you prefer) by storming Thanos's compound and stealing back the Infinity Gauntlet.Their plan fails pretty spectacularly when Thanos reveals that he'd already destroyed the Infinity Stones—so, a pissed-off Thor (Chris Hemsworth) beheads the Mad Titan in a fit of rage. During their panel with Backstory Magazine's Jeff Goldsmith at Comic-Con International on Friday (July 19), the film's writers revealed that a version of the script later would have seen Captain America's head lopped off as well during the time-travel portion of the film, after Thanos gained access to the Avengers' portal."We were working on different ways to bring Thanos into the … [Read more...] about Avengers: Endgame Almost Saw Thanos Decapitate Captain America

Julie Hinds Detroit Free Press Published 3:30 PM EDT Apr 29, 2019 There are enough celebrities from past Marvel movies doing cameos in "Avengers: Endgame" to fill a dozen red carpets. But the coolest cameo of all might belong to — spoiler alert that doesn't involve the storyline! — comic book great Jim Starlin, who hails from Detroit and is credited with creating the "Endgame" villain, eco-psycho baddie Thanos. Brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, who directed "Endgame," included this onscreen moment as a way to honor Starlin's contribution to the Marvel universe, according to Entertainment Weekly. Starlin pops up early in the three-hour epic. In a scene where a support group talks about life after the devastation wrought by Thanos in "Infinity War," a grieving man (played by Joe Russo) talks about going on a first date with a guy who started crying during the salad course. Another man asks him, "And what about you?" … [Read more...] about Detroiter Jim Starlin created Thanos, has cameo in ‘Avengers: Endgame’
Fresh off turning a bunch of heroes into literal dust in 2018's Infinity War, the MCU's Malthusian fan boy Thanos will return to battle the remaining Avengers in April's Endgame. He's already managed to dispatch a number of the franchise's most beloved characters including Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Star-Lord, Shuri and more. And while it would be rational to believe that humanity's salvation may be delivered by a marquee Avenger like Captain America, Iron Man or Thor, there's one pint-size, second-tier hero getting big-time attention online: Ant-Man. Where is Thanos—a seemingly unbeatable foe who can disintegrate half of all life in the universe—most vulnerable? His big, purple butthole, of course!A fan theory that originated on Reddit posits that Ant-Man, with his ability to shrink down to be teeny-tiny, could easily slip into Thanos' rectum and defeat the Mad Titan from the inside. That Thanos could meet his (rear) end thanks to some sneaky butt maneuvering has taken … [Read more...] about A Bunch of Memes Featuring Ant-Man Crawling Up Thanos’ Butt in ‘Avengers: Endgame’
Marvel has some very strange villains on its roster. We've already met a few of them – big old purple Thanos, and the giant, flaming-headed Dormammu. Others are still waiting in the wings: Morgan le Fay, the sorceress of Arthurian legend, the purple shorts-wearing dragon Fin Fang Foom, and the time-travelling despot Kang the Conqueror (who also happens to be another time-travelling despot, Immortus, in his downtime). Then there's Annihilus, a giant insect from the antimatter Negative Zone. Using his 'Cosmic Control Rod', he rules over a horde of ravenous monster bugs who are eternally gagging to spill into our universe and devour it. There has been a slow but steady flow of rumours that he would appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the years – including the (incorrect) speculation that 'Avengers 4' would be subtitled 'Annihilation' after the comics storyline that saw Annihilus come close to conquering the Marvel Universe. Now a recent promo website created by Marvel … [Read more...] about Is Marvel Villain Annihilus in Avengers Endgame?
