The Civil Aviation Authority has today launched legal action against Ryanair after the low-cost airline refused to pay compensation to passengers for flight disruptions. Some 100,000 passengers were affected after a series of flights were cancelled or delayed over the summer when cabin crew and pilots went on strike. The CAA found the strikes were not "extraordinary circumstances" and therefore the airline was not exempt from compensation rules - despite Ryanair's claims they were. The watchdog has now said thousands passengers are entitled to some kind of compensation under EU law. But their claims have been rejected by the airline and Ryanair will now face legal action in court. Odeon blasted for flogging £40 film tickets at flagship Leicester Square cinema
ODEON has been blasted for flogging film tickets at a flagship cinema for more than £40 each. The cinema in Leicester Square which has been recently refurbished is expected to open to later this month. It underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment - with Dolby providing cutting-edge audio-visual technology. But cinema-goers have hit out at the £40.75 cost of top price tickets. Zoe Margolis posted on Twitter: “I want cinemas to succeed, and film to thrive. “I want cinemas to have affordable pricing. If prices increase, people will stay away from cinemas and stream (or torrent) movies at home. “I want Leicester Square Odeon with its £40 ticket price to fail and shut down. F**k that shit. TED Baker boss Ray Kelvin is accused of pushing an employee against a wall because he was not invited to his wedding. In the latest allegation against him, he is said to have become angry after learning the engaged couple, both senior staff, had only invited him to their reception and not the ceremony. The fashion group’s 63-year-old founder is alleged to have berated the bride-to-be before pinning her fiance against a wall in February 2016.
