Photo: Ros Southern Archant Ilford Transition Town has organised a food festival to celebrate local food knowledge, to find out more about growing food in Ilford and to create an opportunity to share recipes along with tips for reducing food waste. This is the third annual food festival, and will take place on Saturday, September 29 at the Fold Cafe at Cranbrook Baptist Church, Wellesley Road, Ilford from 12 noon till 3pm. The festival will include food tasters, demos, workshops, recipe sharing, Ilford herb teas and a give and take food stall. The Transition Town team are also looking for people to run demos and offer tasters, and a spokesman from the group said: “This is our third food fest and it’s a great community cooperation event.
